Planning a budget trip to Dubai is easier than you think. The city is modern, offers stunning architecture, luxury shopping, and plenty of activities for solo travelers. From a desert safari and breathtaking views from the Burj Khalifa to visiting the iconic Burj Al Arab, there’s something for everyone.

The best part? Dubai doesn’t have to be expensive. Flights from Europe or nearby countries can sometimes be found for under $100 round-trip, making it an amazing destination for budget travelers.

Is it possible to visit Dubai on a budget from the USA? Absolutely.

Flights from the USA can be surprisingly affordable. For example, I once found a round-trip ticket for $500 with a layover in Amman. 16 hours of travel, but still a great deal.

• Dubai Desert Safari Tour

  

This activity is a must-do. It is affordable and fun. I’ve booked my tour with the GetYourGuide agency (as I always do), and the tour was very nice. This tour included three activities: a camel ride, a sandboard ride, and a crazy dunes ride in a vehicle. I did this on my birthday, and I had so much fun. Highly recommend.

• Dubai Mall

If you have been to the major cities and visited malls there, you won’t be so excited about the Dubai Mall. It’s huge, has lots of shops, and the Burj Khalifa is located right there as well. So you can combine your activities at the same time. The only thing I hated about the Dubai Mall is that they sell perfume on every single corner, which is super strong. So if you are allergic to this kind of stuff, be aware.

The entrance to the Burj Khalifa’s top is inside the Dubai Mall on the G level. Tickets should be booked in advance for a specific time. You can buy them on the spot, but expect long lines and limited availability, especially during peak hours.

• Watch the Night Fountain Show

The Dubai Fountain show is worth seeing while near the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall. It’s shorter than some other famous shows, but the music, lights, and dancing water make it enjoyable. Shows run every 30 minutes after sunset, and best of all. It’s free!

• Go On the Speed Boat Tour

  

This 90-minute boat tour is a fun way to see Dubai from the water. You’ll pass landmarks like the Burj Khalifa, Atlantis Hotel, and JBR Beach, with plenty of stops for photos.

Tip: Bring a hairbrush. You’ll need it after the wind on the water!

• Go to the 3D Dubai Selfie Museum

I didn’t get a chance to go, but it looks super fun. Full of optical illusions and colorful scenes, it’s perfect for taking creative selfies. You can walk into fantasy worlds and pose with 3D art. It’s a playful way to enjoy your Dubai trip.

• Explore the Marina Area and JBR Beach

Check out Dubai Marina, one of the liveliest spots in the city. Relax on the free beach, stroll along the waterfront with views of yachts, enjoy a variety of tasty food, and soak up the vibrant atmosphere. Dubai Marina won’t let you down.
